Armac Veterinary Clinic has been operating since the 1980s (per its website) and offers both routine vet care and a 24/7 emergency service. It also states it is a veterinary nurse training facility. Owners most often mention being able to book and be seen at short notice for urgent problems (including being seen “within the hour” and on a public holiday morning), alongside calm, reassuring handling during stressful situations such as euthanasia. Reviews are not uniformly positive: one recent account describes concerns about vaccination/worming advice, worsening diarrhoea in a kitten, delays in receiving lab results, and promised calls not happening—alongside a bill of £480 for two visits.

We’ve used Armac for emergency out of hours care on several occasions. It’s always easy to book in an appointment, 24 hours a day. All the staff are friendly, helpful and compassionate.

The vets and staff are excellent but really struggle to park. There is only 1 space designated. Its a busy practice so it makes it stressful when you cant fi d anywhere to park.

This practice is a nightmare, they have no idea what they are doing, they are not returning calls although promised. I went with two kittens for a healthcheck and for worming treatment. The vet asked if I wanted to get them vaccinated as well and I told him that I read that kittens should not be vaccinated if they haven't been wormed at least 2 weeks earlier, he said that it's fine to vaccinated them and it doesn't matter if they have been wormed or not. Well as it turned out it's not fine as the vaccine may not be effective at all and this is not a standard guidance. After the vaccination one of the kittens got diarrhoea so I went back but I've been told that it's probably from the vaccine and that they cannot give the kitten anything for it. I got 2 sachets of probiotic. Couple of days later it got worse to the point that the kitten went to litter box 4 times within 1h so I went back for emergency visit. I brought stool samples as well. This time I've been you'd that it's probably worms so they have given him worm treatment again and some paste to give him for 3 days. I've been told that the lab results will be back within 1 week. I have called 1 week later no results, the kittens still has diarrhoea so Ive asked to speak to vet as its been over 2 weeks, the kitten doesn't gain weight and I'm now really worried. I've been told that the vet will call me back. Guess what? no phone call. I called the next day and Ive been assured that I'm on the list for a phone call that day. We'll it's 3 days later still no phone call and no results. I have oaud fir those 2 vusits £480 for what?? If I could give negative stairs I would. I should've gone with different vet especially that they have failed to diagnose my older cat on time and when I went 3 months later with him it was too late to do anything to save him as he had advanced lymphoma and my cat died 6 weeks later 😢. Stay away of you can!!!

We had an unexpected trip to the emergency vets and I couldn’t have asked for a nicer experience. The staff were so caring and super reassuring during such a stressful time. Their love for animals shines. Their prices were so reasonable and about 1/4 of the price we’d been quoted by another surgery. This really helped to relieve stress and we could just focus on getting our dog feeling better. Thank you!

1st class service which truly puts your pets needs first. Always happy to discuss/answer any queries. Our Labrador loves and trusts team and that speaks volumes to us, as a pet parent.

The best Vet in the North West and a firm I've been with through the life of my three dogs. The first of which I got in 1993. No issues, no problems and they don't overcharge.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Wonderful Care Every Time! I can’t speak highly enough of the team at our vets. The vets and reception staff are always so lovely—not just to me, but to my dogs as well. Every visit feels calm and welcoming, and it’s clear how much they genuinely care about the animals (and their humans!). Whether it’s a routine check-up or something more urgent, I always feel reassured knowing we’re in such capable and compassionate hands. Thank you for everything you do.

We had to recently put our old dog to sleep, and from the first phone call to leaving with just the bedding, the Armac staff were amazing. What a skill they have, to know what to say to provide comfort and clarity, without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Lily was in great hands with the ladies who were in that night. Amazing people and can't thank them enough for looking after our girl 🐾🤍

Been going to Armac vets for years with all our pets. Cannot fault the care and compassion shown by all the vets. My 6 year old lab is always terrified when we have to visit and this week when he was due his booster the vet went above and beyond to make his visit as stress free as possible. Thank you.
